About the data
Florida Food Inspections is an independent site that republishes the state's restaurant inspection records in a form that's easy to search and read. It isn't run by or affiliated with the State of Florida or any restaurant.
Where the records come from
All records come from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), Division of Hotels and Restaurants, which publishes them as public data files:
- License files: every licensed public food service establishment, with its business name, licensee, address, type, seats and license status.
- Inspection files: every food service inspection since July 2024, with the date, type, result and the number of violations in each category.
- Emergency closure reports: the state's weekly list of businesses closed by emergency order this year, with the reason and the date each was allowed to reopen.
We refresh everything weekly. The update date is at the bottom of every page.
What the records can't tell you
- The state's data files give the number of violations in each category, not the inspector's written comments. For the full narrative report, look up the license on DBPR's site.
- Each inspection is a snapshot of one visit. Nothing here says a restaurant or its food is safe or unsafe.
- Businesses that closed or changed owners may show under their old license, marked "no longer licensed".
- Grocery stores, schools, hospitals and other places inspected by other agencies aren't included.
Corrections
We show public records as published and don't change them. If a record is wrong at the source, DBPR can correct it, and the change will appear here after our next weekly update. For a problem with how this site shows a record, email admin@floridafoodinspections.com.
